My good friend Jenn introduced me to a website that gives helps you get your house clean and organized without being stressful and overwhelming. http://www.flylady.com/ I LOVE this site. I have never been an organized person, so I am using this site to help me keep on top of things. I am completely amazed that I really do love a shiny sink!
What this site recommends, is doing something for 15 minutes every night so you never have to spend a lot of time spring cleaning. This week we are in the kitchen and last night, cleaning up your small appliances was the chore. I decided that since our Pizza Oven is 7 years old and has never been cleaned, that this would be a great appliance to tackle.(We use the pizza oven almost daily to cook anything we can shove through the door!)
Nick was not home so I needed to find something to occupy my sweet Charlie while I attempted to clean 7 years of gunk out of the pizza over. I had a severe laps of judgement and thought that coloring with chalk on her chalkboard would be a good activity.
Apparently, cleaning a pizza oven is a lot more intense that I expected. I did not notice miss Charlie move her little chalkboard from the kitchen floor to the fireplace. I did not realize hearing her say "mommy flow-flow!" was a warning.
I finished the pizza oven, (I must say it looks like new) and turned around expecting to see Charlie sitting on the floor with beautiful flowers to show me on her chalk board. No Charlie. Panic!
This is what I found....
Now...I know that I am completely responsible for this. It was not a good idea on my part to let her play with chalk inside while I was so involved with the Pizza Oven. So she did not get in trouble. She did have to help clean it up though, so she knows that chalk does not go on the fireplace.
Wow! This picture looks a little more like slave labor than I thought!
In 15 minutes I can make the Pizza Oven look like new and Charlie can draw me a dozen "flow-flows" on the fireplace. Who knew!?!?!

This can be your 15 minute chore tonight!! LOL Too cute!-Nicole
I am vaguely remembering something to do with nail polish and your mom's bedroom dresser :)
I love your blog and check it much too often (great way to procrastinate getting work done!); you do a great job of documenting some adorable moments with Charlie.
Hey, by the way, my parents, Jeremy, and friend and I are headed out to the hills Monday for a motorcycling trip. Are you guys going to be around? Let me know and I would love to see you again! cecreager@hotmail.com Tessa
that is too funny!! love the site, too.
Wow - what a mess. Aspen found her way into a lazy susan, turn style cupboard yesterday that holds all my spices and cookie sprinkles etc... She pulled out MANY of the spices and I am still finding them all over the house... But she was facinated by the container that holds all the straws. I have straws EVERYWHERE!!! Wish I had the camera out for that...
I am sure that we both will have many more events like these that will be worth story telling. Who would have thought that one 15 minute cleaning job would lead to another... ;-)
