I know...I have been totally slacking on my blog. I would like to try to blame it on that someone broke my camera 3 weeks ago...but I can't. He has spent several hours at Best Buy with me, and replaced my camera twice since then in order to make sure I have what I really want. So I do have pictures....and a very funny video of Charlie telling us what she learned on the first day of preschool....But I have not posted any of them. I also have birthday pictures that have been requested by grandparents....but I have not posted those either. I will blame it on my SD card reader on my laptop at work. It does not work anymore. But that probably isn't a good excuse either since we do have a computer with a functioning SD card reader at home. So....I will try to get pictures/videos posted soon. Until then....I will leave you with a conversation with Charlie.
Me: What did you learn at Beth's house today?
Charlie: I just played outside.
Me: Well that sounds fun, but I saw that you made a friendship bracelet. Did you talk about friends today?
Charlie: Yes.
Me: Well what did you talk about.
Charlie lists all of the girls at daycare as her friends.
Me: But what about Boy's Name? (I decided I better not list names of children without asking parents)
Charlie: He is a boy.
Me: I know, but he has always been your friend before.
Charlie: I am only friends with girls.
Me: But what about Sam? He is a boy.
Charlie: YES! I love Sam!
Me: He is a boy, so see you can be friends with boys.
Charlie: No! Only girls....and Sam. I don't like boys.
Me: Charlie, you can have friends that are boys. Why don't you like boys?
Charlie: I don't want to answer any more questions.
So...there you go. She is 3 and already doesn't want to talk to me! I didn't think that was supposed to happen yet! And I am afraid that if they had a lesson on friendship, that Charlie didn't pay very close attention!

Happy 3rd Birthday Charlie!
Charlie,
Today you turn three....even though you are convinced you are four. I can't believe it has been three years since you were this tiny!
You have grown up so much in the past year, but you are still the same independent little girl I wrote about last year.
You're ultimate goal in life is to be big enough to sit in the front seat. Every time I tell you "you're to big to do that" you reply with "can I sit in the front seat?!" I know it won't be long before you can, but right now you are still our little girl.
You love singing, dancing, telling stories and playing games. You love to pretend. My favorite game to play is when you say "I'll be the mommy and you be the sweetie." I love being your sweetie! You would be outside every minute of the day if you could. You are such a monkey. You jump, climb, flip over anything you can think of.
You are not a morning person. You HATE waking up. You will hide and pull the blanket over your head and fall right back to sleep when we try to wake you. When you finally do wake up, you say "can we just snuggle in your bed for a little bit?" We love snuggling with you in the mornings.
You are such a sweet girl. Although you can really have some sassy days...for the most part you are just as sweet as can be. When you say "I love you so much!" just out of the blue, it lights up our whole day.
We love you so much, and are so proud of you. Happy Birthday Sweetie!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Pictures on a whim
I found a really fun dress for Charlie last week, so since I was going over to Dad's I asked him to just take a few pictures for me. I even sat with Charlie in some....which I am not thrilled about, but I think one didn't turn out too bad.

Dad's Photography
I know I have mentioned several times how lucky we are to have my dad to take pictures of Charlie. And I know that around this time last year I posted that we had unbiased proof that he was talented. Now we have some more!
Dad entered 10 pictures in the Central States Fair last month. We heard that there were over 700 pictures entered so several were not put up for display. But every single one of my dad's were! And he even won some ribbons his first year in the fair! I am so proud of him! I am a little partial to his model too!
