Conversations with Charlie
Me: "Nick, do you want to rub my neck?"
Nick: "hmmmm....no. :)"
Nick: "Charlie, do you want to rub Mommy's neck?"
Charlie: "Mommy's neck is HUGE! My neck is Teeny."
I guess that meant no!

Conversations with Charlie
Charlie: "Mommy, where are we going now?"
Me: "We are going to Grandma's house."
Charlie: "I see Grandma! And Uncle John! And Michelle!"
Me: "Yep, and you will need to give Michelle a great big hug today because she is going home tomorrow."
Charlie: "To Grandma's house?"
Me: "No, to her house."
Charlie: "Where?"
Me: "In Williston. Can you say Williston?"
Charlie: "No....I too busy."

Tumble Bus
I had the day off yesterday. I didn't want Charlie to miss Tumble Bus day, so Amy let me stay and watch. It was so fun seeing Charlie participate in a class like that!

Field Trip
I was able to help with a field trip with Charlie's daycare today! They have been learning about dinosaurs for the past 2 weeks, so we took them to the Museum of Geology at SDSM&T today.

More Conversations with Charlie
We have a 15 minute drive to daycare each morning. Usually, Charlie isn't in the best mood because she hates getting up in the morning, so she just sits quietly in the back.
Today was a different story! Here are bits of our conversation this morning:
Charlie: "Oh No!!"
Me: "What's wrong Charlie?"
Charlie: " I don't have my glasses on!"
Me: "Charlie, you don't wear glasses."
Charlie: "Oh!"
Charlie: She is mumbling something that I don't understand.
Me: "I don't know what you are saying."
Charlie: "Just say yes."
Me: "um...I don't think so!"
Charlie: " Mommy Look!"
Me: "What Charlie!"
Charlie: "Goodnight Moon, Mommy!" (she calls a full moon Goodnight moon because of the book)
Me: "Wow Charlie! What is the moon still doing up!"
Charlie: "Goodnight Moon is going to get my bagel!" (Charlie is supper protective of her bagel because miss Hannah steals it almost every day, so she thinks everyone after it!)
Me: "Oh no! You better eat it fast so the moon doesn't get it!" (I probably shouldn't encourage her, but hey, this is funny!)
Charlie: " Goodnight moon is following us!"
Me: "Why is the moon following us?"
Charlie: "Goodnight moon wants to go to Beth's house."
Me: "What is he going to do at Beth's house?"
Charlie: "Goodnight moon wants to play toys at Beth's house!"
Me: "Well of course he does, Beth's house is fun!"
I can't imagine how boring my life was before Charlie!

Christmas at Our House
We had a belated Christmas celebration at our house with my side of the family this past weekend. I made a Turkey (and yes it was edible), we had dinner and opened a few presents.
Nick and I got Charlie a little kitchen that we didn't want to have to haul to and from MI, so she finally got to open it. She loves making us "something to eat."
Grandma gave Charlie a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fishing game. She was so excited to play it. Daddy tried to show her how it works....

Conversations with Charlie
Conversations with Charlie have become even more hilarious at our house lately. There isn't a day or even an hour that goes by that I don't laugh out loud at something she says (or laugh under my breath as best I can when what she says something that isn't appropriate!)
Here are a few of my latest favorite converstaions:
1. Me: "Charlie...you go to your room. You are in time out. I told you NOT to throw those diapers on the floor."
(I go to the bathroom to take out my contacts)
Charlie yelling from the hallway: "Mommy!! I am all done now! Alright Sweetheart?!?!"
(I laugh histaricly.)
Now Charlie calls me Sweetheart whenever she is in trouble or if she is asking me to do something she knows I don't want her to.
2. Me: "Charlie, you have to let me help you put on your sweater. We have to go. You have been trying to do it by yourself for 10 minutes>"
Charlie: "I do it ALL BY MYSELF!"
Me: "I will help you hold it. We have to go!"
Charlie: "I do it ALL BY MYSELF!"
Me: "CHARLIE COME HERE NOW!!"
Charlie: "It's alright Sweetheart!" (As she is patting my head)
3. Me: "Goodnight Sweetheart"
Charlie: "You lay down right her for just a liiitle bit! Alright sweetheart!"
(how can you resist that?!?!)
4. Charlie is trying to brush Belle's hair. Belle is not cooperating.
Charlie: "Belle, you sit still. Alright Sweetheart?"
5. Hannah isn't listening. Charlie wants to play dolls with her. Charlie grabs Hannah's face.
Charlie: "Are you listening to me?"
6. Charlie smells BAD.
Me: "Charlie, did you poop?"
Charlie: "No...I just tooted." or "No...not yet

A Story of a Crazy Woman
I found this story on the Internet this morning. I have to say that this story may as well be about me and that this is exactly how I feel today.
Barb...if you read this...don't you dare come back to work and tell me you told me so. I don't even want to hear it. :)
Anyway...this made me laugh this morning and also made me feel completely insane. Enjoy!
Once upon a time there was a woman who went on a low-carb diet and became very interested in what her weight was doing on a regular basis. She woke up every morning and weighed herself. Then she would go to the bathroom and weigh herself again. Then she would weigh again after her shower. Then she'd weigh herself after she put her clothes on. And she would weigh herself finally before she went to bed at night.
Every day it was the same roller coaster ride. When she weighed after going to the bathroom, she knew her diet was working, because she would often weigh a full pound less than what she weighed a couple minutes earlier. That's pretty good weight loss for a couple minutes.
But then, when she put her clothes on and weighed again, she would be horrified and question the whole diet. She had gained 3 pounds!
And, if that wasn't enough, she also started measuring her waist every morning and night. She discovered that her nighttime measurement was often half an inch more than her morning time tape reading. That made her sure the diet wasn't working. But then, by morning, she would be surprised to find her measurement down half an inch, and she would brim with enthusiasm for her great diet.
In the end the woman gave up her diet, went insane, and went bankrupt from all the scales and measuring tapes she had to buy over her lifetime.

A Few Christmas Pics
This is my new favorite picture!
Charlie loved playing with Buddy. He is a lot more patient than her puppies. She could do anything she wanted with him and he just laid there. Now that we are home, she tried to do that with Belle and Hannah. It doesn't go over so well!
