We carved pumpkins this week and attempted continuing the tradition of fitting Charlie in the pumpkin. (see last year's pictures here ) She is still really skinny, but she has shot up in height so this year was more difficult. She was really excited about sitting in the pumpkin at first, but then the pumpkin was really cold on her little legs. So she got really sad really quickly.
She was only in there long enough for me to snap the picture. Then I grabbed her out and washed off her legs with warm water. As I did that I asked Nick if that would have been considered child abuse and Charlie cried "Yeah Mommy." Nick said, "well there you have it!" I felt bad, but then the next morning Charlie kept asking to sit in the pumpkin again so I don't think we scarred her too bad!
This is by far my favorite pumpkin he has done. But poor Charlie was not too happy when he started cutting into her baby. I don't think it helped that we had been saying goodnight the baby pumpkin every night since we got it! But now that her baby has a face, she loves it even more. We have breakfast with it each morning. I think I will have to sneak that baby pumpkin into the trash over the weekend. Charlie gets so attached to things!
