Birthday Cupcakes

I saw these online a few weeks ago and decided that I would make them for Charlie to take to daycare on her birthday. I made a prototype on Wednesday just to see how they would look and let Charlie eat it. It was then I realized that they were NOT a good idea.

I never give Charlie cupcakes. No, it's not a surgar thing or a fat thing. (We all know she can use as much as she can get!) It is just that I don't bake very often. So it didn't occur to me that chocolate frosted cupcakes would not be an appropriate treat for daycare. I ran it by Beth on Thurs. morning just to be sure, and she agreed that she would rather not give chocolate cupcakes to a bunch of preschoolers. Now I know. (Just to be honest, I cried a little on my way to work that morning because I was so disapointed.)

I decided to make them any way and just bring to work with me to celebrate Charlie's special day. I think they turned out pretty cute, even though Nick thinks they look nothing like what they are supposed to be. (I think he lacks imagination!)

What do you think they look like?!?!

I've changed my mind... If you turn them upside down and squint your eyes a bit they look like little crabs. without legs of course.
